I’ve been working on SnugAtHome website all day. I cleaned up a lot of stuff and old links, made the site pretty, added some goodies to tempt people to use us as their go-to site for comfort stuff every day even when they’re not traveling, and added some travel discount affiliate links.

I mean, think about it. Penny and I have had this awesome 5-Star Pet Sitting business in Hardin County for almost 10 years now. Back in April 2016 I posted that great article 5 Signs of a Bad Pet Sitter so people would always have an example to compare us against. We’ve been a part of this community for more than 30 years, so reputation is everything. You cannot buy a good reputation. Well, maybe you can, but we’re not in politics.

Yeah, it’s been feast or famine most years. I could have been doing so much else. I’ve been working retail for more than 20 years, Penny has been Manager of the Animal Refuge Center, Inc. for almost 32 years–that NEVER happens! That’s the epitome of devotion.

Most people burn out from animal rescue long before that. And being married to someone in animal rescue is above and beyond being married to a doctor or paramedic. Even a night out with the girls seems to get interrupted every single time by a text of a pet hit by a car in desperate need of rescue. 🙁

But we seem to always find our balance even after all that time. See, we’re grandparents now. We made an agreement a long time ago never to melt down at the same time.

I’ve retired out of retail because the last 20 years have done its deal on my back. But I can still feed and medicate cats, cuddle up on the couch with picky babies, walk dogs and scoop litterboxes. That decision made me and Penny look long and hard at Snug At Home Pet Sitting and make a decision to devote our time even more to serving our community.
